Role overview
Sierra Leone country signature programme on health is an integrated strategy to reduce teenage pregnancy, maternal and neo-natal mortality. It emphasizes to empower adolescents, their families and communities and to support them to have informed health choices such as delaying first pregnancy and skilled attendance at delivery in Sierra Leone. The strategy is aligned with Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS) health sector priorities and post Ebola recovery plan. It aims to complement govt. and other health actor's efforts to strengthen the health systems of Sierra Leone.
The overall job responsibility of Health Programme Manager is to manage the strategic development, implementation and successful delivery of the country health programme results, supporting all of VSO's work in- country in order to optimize the contribution towards reducing poverty in Sierra Leone.
Skills, qualifications and experience
A dynamic person with degree in Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery, community health with at least 5 years' experience working with NGOs in MNCH and Adolescents health programme, design, implementation, management, monitoring evaluation, mentoring and coaching on technical areas of MNCH. Excellent understanding of project cycle management tools to ensure effective planning, resourcing, implementation and review of programmes and experience of organizational assessment, planning and review tools and processes
