Role overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced supporter / customer insight analyst to join the Data and Insight team at VSO. With a focus on continuous improvement this role is instrumental in delivering reporting, analysis, insight and recommendations about our supporters and our supporter comms activity, influencing decisions on strategy and increasing organisational effectiveness and performance. You will work closely with anyone involved in direct supporter comms across the organisation as well as the database, digital and comms management teams with Data and Insight.
You’ll be joining our team at a very exciting time as we go live with a new Customer Data Platform. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced impact focused Insight Analyst.
Skills, qualifications and experience
As the successful candidate, you will have substantial experience of delivering analysis from large databases, converting this into insights and recommendations to influence senior colleagues. In addition you will have:
• Experience of using data visualisation tools and techniques including setting up and designing automated PowerBI dashboards.
• Strong statistical and analytical skills, plus expertise in using analytical software
• Experience in building targeting and segmentation solutions
• Knowledge of SQL and Excel for data manipulation, reporting and analysis
• Proven ability to prioritise, schedule and meet deadlines for short-term, medium-term and recurring tasks whilst working with a range of different teams.
• Excellent ability to communicate complex information in a digestible way to a non-technical audience.
• A working knowledge of data protection legislation related to d ata use.
• Commercially minded / ROI focused
• Experience of working with CRM systems (i.e. Raiser’s Edge, BlueVenn Engage, Adobe Marketing Cloud, Unica, SAS MA, Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
• An understanding of charity sector codes of conduct/ best practice and how these impact on data management.
• Knowledge of the principles of database marketing.
