District level engagement
* In collaboration with the District Education office, support the district planning process especially at sub-county and district level to ensure that challenges affecting girls education are well articulated in the plans and are apportioned a budget
* In collaboration with the District Education office, derive operational work plans for education department from the District Development Plan (DDP) that include focus on addressing challenges and barriers affecting girls education
* Provide technical support and advice to District Education Office, working in direct collaboration and leadership of the District Education Officer. With school inspectors as counterparts and other stakeholders to improve their capacity to promote and develop inclusive education strategies that directly impact on improvement of quality of education for girls and boys
* Working alongside the district education staff, train and mentor sub-county and school leadership members in inclusive education they may include ( Sub-county Chief, Secretary education, sub-county counsellors, Head teachers, teachers, PTA & SMC)
* Strengthen the capacity of local CBOs to reduce the negative attitude towards education of marginalised categories of children e.g. girls, children with disability, orphans and other vulnerable children, boy pastoralists etc.
* In collaboration with district counterparts Implement and monitor agreed education operational work plan implementation and report on achievements on quarterly basis
* Plan and organize school support supervision visits to oversee inclusive teaching quality
* Document and disseminate project’s best practices, challenges and lessons learnt
* Work in close collaboration with other VSO volunteers, particularly the community development specialists and education researchers
VSO Uganda/Global level engagement
* Participate in VSO coordinated activities with other partners and other stakeholders
* Prepare quarterly work plans, requisitions and reports
* Attend and participate in quarterly planning and coordination review meetings
* Prepare for quarterly placement reviews with the programme manager and/or officer at placement location or at VSO quarterly meetings
* Participate in other VSO activities local and international as may be necessary e.g. VSO-led monitoring and evaluation , participating in specific working groups
Ireland level engagement
* Help raise awareness among the Irish public about the role of Irish volunteers in development, the sustainable impact they have and other positive benefits volunteering can bring to the countries where Ireland works
* Help raise awareness among professionals, particularly in the health and education sectors in Ireland, on volunteering for development opportunities, and motivate to pursue them
