As Regional Thematic Advisor, you are part of Save the Children Sweden’s International Programme. You provide thematic support, technical assistance and programmatic guidance to Save the Children Sweden’s (SCS’) country and regional programmes in Asia and assure their quality throughout the whole programming cycle (planning, implementation and evaluation/reporting). You are responsible for assessing, building and strengthening the knowledge and capacity of those involved in the implementation of SCS funded programs in the region and to ensure the strong relationships with country offices needed for this. As a Regional Thematic Advisor, you are also expected to contribute to the global thematic and policy development of Save the Children.
Your overall responsibility includes:
Provide support and assure quality in the development and reporting of SCS funded programs in the region. Primarily focus on Child Rights Governance programs, including the strengthening of civil society
Required qualifications
University degree within a relevant field
Minimum 10 years of documented experience from international qualified work in relevant areas for the position
Experience from providing capacity building support
Good understanding of planning, monitoring and evaluation tools commonly used in development cooperation
Practical experience from planning and follow-up of development programs, including proposal writing and reporting
Experience from working with a high level of independence
Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
Good understanding of budgeting and financial follow-up
