Role overview
At the heart of this role is ensuring VSO is an organisation that passionately engages with high net worth donors and encourages them to engage and support our work.
The Major Donor Manager will play a key role in shaping the strategy and securing funds from donors. This includes evaluating the case for developing a mid-value programme to support a pipeline of Major Donor activity. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced environment, establishing new income streams.
Reporting directly to the Head of Public Fundraising, the successful candidate will help VSO build and manage relationships with Major Donors and effectively steward these donors to successful long-term sustainable income. And they will have the opportunity to recruit and build a new team.

We are looking for someone with a passion for engaging supporters, and with the ability to manage an up and coming team of fundraising income growth. You should be a self-starter. You will be at the heart of shaping VSO's future.
You will be responsible for implementing strong cultivation and solicitation plans, whilst bringing those who choose to join us, closer to our work. You will also be leading the quarterly budgeting process.
In addition you will be project managing the processes by which you engage with VSO's CEO and Executive Board in high level donor engagement. You will need to effectively guide stakeholders across the organisation to support you to achieve the results.
Skills, qualifications and experience
You will have; *experience of working in a target led environment with a proven track record of delivering against targets, observing deadlines and achieving results.
*a strong understanding of the principles of Major Donor fundraising.
*experience of successfully preparing funding proposals and "making the ask" of donors.
*strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to engage professionally with high net worth individuals and you will have the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues internally.
This role would be best suited to someone with a proactive and action-orientated personality; strong sense of pace and urgency.
