Role overview
The role will support 4 Regional Finance Managers to ensure month and year end processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner. You will also support grant and donor reporting for 3 Finance Managers in Bids and Contract Management. You will be responsible for a number of monthly management reports and support the annual and quarterly budgeting process. As a key point of contact for VSOs UK regional office staff, you will provide financial accounting advice on a day to day basis and pro-actively lead on the resolution of financial queries. You will challenge current work practices in order to ensure continuous improvement and work with other team members and Country Office Finance staff to ensure new processes are successfully introduced and maintained.
Skills, qualifications and experience
You will be a part qualified accountant with a desire to gain a full professional qualification. You will have strong financial ability, good analytical and problem solving skills. You will have good communications and interpersonal skills with an ability to work with competing priorities in a multicultural team and be able to provide quality financial advice and remote support to regional and country finance managers to ensure quality financial management and capacity of finance teams throughout VSO. The role will require you to be flexible and occasionally may need to adapt working hours to meet the needs of Country Offices in different time zones.
