Role overview
You will support in strengthening and implementing VSO’s approach to evaluation, research and learning to drive programme improvement by improving the quality of VSO knowledge generation, research and evaluation and contributing to growing VSO’s body of evidence in research and evaluation.
Skills, qualifications and experience
You have
A Masters Degree in social sciences, research for social sciences, or equivalent.
An Advanced understanding of research, monitoring and evaluation approaches and methodologies.
Experience in planning / designing / carrying out high-quality evaluation/research studies.
Good communications skills – able to express complex information in a simple and succinct manner.
Excellent relationship management skills and experience working with people in different contexts.
Self-starter with initiative and confidence to lead in their designated field.
Good project management experience.
Ability to travel for up to 30% of the working time.
Desirable Criteria:
PhD in social research
Being up-to-date on the current international debate around development effectiveness and research and evaluation methodologies.
Understanding of key considerations in working cross-culturally.
This role is located in Bangladesh or Kenya.
