India: Programme Manager - Youth and Education

Programme Development - Analyze and understand the relevant development context and key stakeholders, shape India's youth and education programme objectives, including engagement of volunteers, partners and relevant stakeholders to inform and influence decision making to deliver desired outcomes within the programme plans.

Programme planning and review -Plans based on consultation and review, ensuring that resources (volunteers, staff and funding) are allocated appropriately. Ensure appropriate documentation is in place as per VSO process. Lead the design and delivery of appropriate monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, determine the impact and ensure continuous development and learning takes place and that reporting is in line with VSO and donor requirements.

Programme or Project Funding - Proactively identify funding opportunities, working with the regional Programme Funding Manager(s) and India's Programmes Manager to develop concepts and proposals. Develop realistic project plans and budgets, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.

Partnership development and maintenance - - Work with Program Manager to assess and review relevant partnerships. Build and support networks between key stakeholders (donors/other agencies/volunteers/partners etc) to strengthen programme impact.

People Systems and process - Work with the People & Operations Manager to identify the necessary structure and policies for the youth and education program in India. Ensure regular monitoring of the processes to update them as per requirements. Ensure volunteer management and support at all times including ICS and other volunteering initiatives. Demonstrate high level of volunteer support and management.

Finance and Resource Management - Develop, maintain and regularly review financial plans to deliver programme objectives including full participation in the annual budget preparation process.

Other Duties - Assist or take leadership in emergencies as required, working closely with the head of programmes, Programme Managers and the Executive Director and other team members. Fulfil other appropriate level responsibilities as defined by the Executive Director from time to time.
