Role overview You'll work with VSO's Media Team to help generate high quality, positive media coverage of VSO and International Citizen Service (ICS). This will include drafting press releases and other written materials, managing VSO's media monitoring service, interacting with journalists from local newspapers, supporting preparation for international storygathering trips and gathering case studies of VSO and ICS volunteers.
Skills, qualifications and experience required You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, work to deadline, strong administrative skills and an interest in, and understanding of, the UK media. Ideally you would also be able to identify what makes a strong story for communications work. You will be dedicated to learning more about charity communications and international development.
