Role overview In this role you will implement a successful business partnering framework to ensure IT understands stakeholder needs and IT provision is aligned to VSO's operating plan. You will continue to develop VSO's IT strategy in line with business needs / technology advances. Working closely with the Solutions Architect, you will develop VSO's architecture strategy and encourage adherence to this framework. You will advise the Head of International Information Technology on approaches and technologies that will best meet the needs of VSO and support functional leads in scoping projects and developing project initiation documents. You will work with the IT Project delivery manager to align project scheduling to the IT Roadmap and act as product manager for VSO core platforms Resources which manage the system administration / BAU maintenance of VSO core platforms will sit within your team and you will manage IT delivery for contracts where VSO is a service provider. As Business Solutions Manager you will facilitate IT governance processes, to ensure that the organization is involved in and supports IT planning and understands the IT strategy.
Skills, qualifications and experience required You will be self-motivated and directed, able to effectively prioritize your own workload and that of others. You will have significant experience of working in partnership with business managers to deliver Information Technology solutions, ensuring maximum business benefits. You will demonstrate strong customer-service orientation.
You will be experienced in motivating and managing a team of diverse IT specialists and have proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions. You will provide strategic guidance to business stakeholders, supporting them in identifying the most appropriate ways to solutions to address their business needs.
You will demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. You will have the ability to conduct research into application development issues and products and demonstrate knowledge of a range of software development technologies. You will be ITIL and/or Prince 2 qualified (or similar).
