Role overview In this role you will take the lead in developing and managing VSO's overall approach to data security and information protection, working as part of a cross functional team. You will audit the collection, use and retention of all personal data within VSO and ensure all VSO policies around data protection and information security are up to date and fit for purpose. You will work across the organisation to monitor compliance with legislation and drive adoption of industry best practice.
You will support the identification of data security and information protection risks and work with stakeholders to develop and implement mitigation plans, as well as working closely with the Global Infrastructure Manager to achieve the highest standards of information security across VSO's network. You will lead and facilitate organisational training and communications around data security and information protection issues and oversee the maintenance of systems to protect data from unauthorized users. Additionally you will oversee incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches, and assist with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches as necessary.
Skills, qualifications and experience required We are looking for someone with a positive 'can do' attitude who is pro-active, self-motivated and able to communicate clearly and collaborate across all levels of the organisation. We are also looking for someone who is highly organised and can evidence working to tight deadlines.
